Controlling fusarium in Bingley, UK

Welcome to Hollins Hall Marriott Hotel & Country Club

We visited Hollins Hall Marriott Hotel & Country Club in Bingley, West Yorkshire to see what challenges Ian Pullan the Golf Superintendent faces coming into the winter months (that's the opposite to our summer). The Country Club course was designed by Ross McMurray and hosted the PGA EuroPro Tour event from 2001 to 2003. Ian talks us through the challenges a typical winter season brings with,

  • dry patches on undulating greens
  • contending with high winds that interrupt sprinkler cover
  • worm castings
  • Japanese weed

and of course treating the main disease in the UK, Fusarium prominent through September, October and November.
